STAR News Exclusive: Hard facts about Nirmal Baba

New Delhi:  STAR News investigates the journey of Nirmal Baba, also known as Nirmal Singh Narula, in the Indian spiritual community. In a country of blind beliefs and superstition, it is said that Nirmal Baba is known to make wonders with his sixth sense and attained mystic powers.  But how true are these. Read on.

Nirmal Baba’s past life:
He was born around 1950 in a Sikh family. Baba got married to the daughter of Dilip Singh Bagga in Jharkhand and has two children (son & daughter). Nirmal Baba is the brother-in-law of former speaker of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Inder Singh Namdharee. According to Namdhari, he married Baba’s sister in 1964 when Nirmal was only 14-15 years old. After the murder of his father during his childhood, his mother sent him to Daltonganj, Jharkhand in 1970’s. According to our investigations, Nirmal Baba during the seventies, owned a cloth shop and after a few years he shut the shop. Later on he tried his luck in the bricks business and laid the foundation of 'Nirmal Bricks' but failed here as well.  In early 1980’s he disappeared and went to Delhi. People knowing him in Jharkhand say he acquired divine powers during this period and developed an inclination towards spiritualism.

Lives in a posh colony in the capital:
He apparently owns a huge home in New Delhi. It is said that this man has the healing powers and has the ability to scan the individual who is hundreds of kilometers away – believe it or not, over the telephone! Isn’t it strange? Even his family is tight lipped about how he transformed from a business man into a wealthy big spiritual guru.

Enormous wealth:

He advertises on 35 channels and has over 3 lakh followers on Facebook. Add to this, around 42,000 followers on Twitter. On every congregation (darbar) around 5,000 are believed to be present. Each person has to pay Rs 2,000 to be a part of it. This amounts to a staggering figure of around Rs 1 crore from every darbar he organizes. It is believed that around 7 such darbars are conducted every month which takes the stats to Rs 84 crores per year. This not the end to it.
He also gives group appointments, conducts pujas, takes donations etc.

What are Baba’s expenses?
Hall where he conducts his Samagams (gathering), advertisement, establishment costs of running his organization - paying employees, website. Taxes he pays.

Do you agree with Inder Singh Namdharee?
Nirmal Baba claims that he has white money and has nothing to hide. He has displayed his bank accounts openly to the public. He pays tax in advance and files Income Tax returns. All these factors make me keep quiet.

However, STAR News is still not convinced.

Publicly displayed bank account numbers:
ICICI A/c Number : 002-905-010-576
Account Name : NIRMAL DARBAR
PNB A/c Number : 1546-0021-0002-3105

Recent controversy:
Two youngsters, Tanaya Thakur and Aritya Thakur, filed a report against self-proclaimed godman Nirmal Baba at a police station on Wednesday in Lucknow. They want the Baba punished for allegedly cheating ordinary people through his “impractical” solutions.

The Delhi High Court has restrained a US-based website from posting any material on its webpages that is defamatory to Nirmal baba. Justice Manmohan Singh in his interim order directed the portal, www.hubpages.com, not to publish any material on its site which is harmful to the reputation of Nirmaljit Singh Narula also known as 'Nirmal baba'.
Well we feel if he can solve  problems of the masses then why is he knocking the judiciary’s door to fix his own troubles.
